Youth Pages of Clan MacLennan
The Youth Pages will be a part of the Clan MacLennan Youth Education Program and the Youth Membership Initiative. We hope to soon be offering a Youth Membership and it is our hope that all youth of Clan MacLennan will take the opportunity to join their Clan and have a voice in the Clan’s direction. Grandparents and Parents - this would make a wonderful and meaningful gift for any occasion! Please let us know if you are interested in a Youth Membership with gift for the youth in your life!
It is our hope that every parent will give/read to their children the Youth Pages and it is our goal to increase the knowledge of our youth with regard to their Clan.
We hope to do this in fun and interesting manner utilizing games, puzzles, stories, contests, and prizes. We want our youth to be proud to be a member of Clan MacLennan, to know some of the Clan’s history, and be aware of their place in that history. We want our youth to make, or continue to make a difference in the Clan by participating in the Athletics at the festivals, to take Highland Dance lessons, learn to play the Bagpipes, Drums or Harp or try out to be a Drum Major.
We are part of a centuries old Clan with an exciting and important history and we need our youth to take its place in that history by joining, learning, participating and creating their own Clan MacLennan history. There will be pages for youth ages 4 and up in every edition of the Clan MacLennan Newsletter and available online. Each edition of the Youth Pages will address a different topic relating to Clan MacLennan so that our youth will be better informed, feel comfortable with their heritage and excited to be a part of Clan MacLennan! The next edition of the Youth Pages will address the Clan Crest and Chief’s Arms.
We encourage you and your children to write/e-mail us with any suggestions, comments &/or questions you may have. Mail/e-mail us stories, announcements and photos of your child and their activities to be placed in the next edition of Youth Pages!
In addition, every Clan MacLennan Booth at this years Festivals will have a “Discovering Clan MacLennan” worksheet that all youth should request. Have your child complete the worksheet and mail back to us for a Grand Prize Drawing.
